Matthew Isnor, Division Chief, Cyber Workforce Development Office, DOW
Alfredo Rodriguez, Deputy Director and Program Lead, Cyber Workforce Data and Analytics Office, DOW
The War Department is expanding skills-based hiring to speed up recruitment of cyber and technology talent by focusing on identifying qualified candidates through hands-on assessments. At TechNet Indo-Pacific in Honolulu, the agency’s Cyber Workforce Development Office Division Chief Matthew Isnor and Deputy Director and Program Lead of the Cyber Workforce Data and Analytics Office Alfredo Rodriguez outlined their Cyber Workforce Framework and qualification program to help standardize workforce roles, qualifications and career development across the department.
They also discussed how workforce data can help leaders identify skills gaps, target training and hiring resources, and assess readiness. DOW is developing assessments for 79 cyber work roles, beginning with network defenders, and plans to issue additional guidance to help military services expand the approach with new roles.
