Elevating Cybersecurity in the Intelligence Community

Ms. La’Naia J. Jones is currently serving as the CIA’s Chief Information Officer (CIO) and Director of the Information Technology Enterprise (D/ITE), where she is responsible for all Agency IT systems and personnel, as well as the global communications networks. She brings over 22 years of experience across the Intelligence Community (IC) having served in several key leadership roles where her technical expertise, knowledge, and global experience have been vital to driving mission goals pertaining to National Security.

Most recently, Ms. Jones served as both the National Security Agency’s (NSA) Deputy CIO and their Information Sharing and Safeguarding Executive. In those roles, she optimized NSA’s IT Strategy for the CIO Inspector General and Policy, IT Accessibility, Chief Information Security Officer, and Chief Data Officer portfolios. With over 22 years of experience in leadership and technical roles across several mission areas, Ms. Jones managed the oversight for IT investments and acquisition programs, ensuring the secure and keen use of IT across NSA.

Prior to serving as NSA’s DCIO, the Director of National Intelligence (DNI) designated Ms. Jones to be the Acting CIO of the Intelligence Community (IC CIO). As the Acting IC CIO and prior role as the Deputy IC CIO, she led modernization efforts to transform the IC Information Technology Enterprise (IC ITE) and other areas of the IC Information Environment (IC IE) through foundational cloud capabilities, data sharing, and cybersecurity.

Throughout her career, Ms. Jones served four years in Tokyo and many other years abroad, strengthening foreign relationships and enhancing domestic partnerships, along with deploying to various war zones supporting global intelligence missions. She visited many U.S. and Partner global operating locations, providing broad technical expertise, background, and experience to further national security and intelligence priorities. Ms. Jones also designed and integrated collaborative technical infrastructures through the resolution of complex, multifaceted IT entanglements of technology organizations.

Ms. Jones has a dual Bachelor of Science in Mathematics and Computer Science from the University of Maryland Eastern Shore and a Master of Science in Technology Management from the University of Maryland, Global Campus. Ms. Jones is a Maryland native, growing up throughout Anne Arundel County and currently resides in Arlington, Virginia.
Her wealth of valuable knowledge and experience is critical for ensuring that CIA harnesses rapidly evolving digital technology and strengthens key partnerships to advance our mission.

Travis Rosiek is a highly accomplished cyber security executive with more than 20 years in the industry. He has built and grown cybersecurity companies and led large cybersecurity programs within the U.S. Department of Defense (DoD). His experience spans driving innovation as a cybersecurity leader for global organizations and CISOs to corporate executive building products and services. His impact has helped lead to successful IPOs (FireEye) and acquisitions (BluVector by Comcast). As a Cyber Leader in the U.S. DoD, he has been awarded the Annual Individual Award for Defending the DoD’s Networks.

Travis currently serves as the Public Sector CTO at Rubrik helping organizations become more cyber and data resilient. Prior to Rubrik, Travis held several leadership roles including the Chief Technology and Strategy Officer at BluVector, CTO at Tychon, Federal CTO at FireEye, a Principal at Intel Security/McAfee and Leader at the Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA). He earned a Certificate from GWU in Executive Leadership and graduated from West Virginia University with Honors while earning multiple Engineering Degrees. He also was one of the first of ten students from across the nation to be awarded a scholarship from the DoD/NSA’s in cybersecurity. His pioneering mindset has helped him better secure our nation and commercial critical infrastructure.

Additionally, Travis is an invited speaker, author (blogs, journals, books) and has also served on the NSTAC, ICIT Fellow, and multiple advisory boards.
