Endpoint Visibility, Faster Patching Key to Federal Cybersecurity Amid Calls for Speed
Egon Rinderer, Senior Vice President, Federal and Enterprise Growth, NinjaOne
Federal agencies are modernizing cybersecurity operations as new federal directives like the White House’s new National Cybersecurity Strategy demand faster response to emerging threats.
Egon Renderer, senior vice president for federal and enterprise growth at NinjaOne, discussed how recent cybersecurity mandates signal a shift toward greater accountability and speed, particularly as agencies work to meet aggressive patching timelines.
Renderer said agencies must address operational bottlenecks created by siloed teams and fragmented toolsets. Consolidating cybersecurity and IT management platforms can help eliminate delays in vulnerability assessment, patching and remediation efforts while improving visibility across increasingly complex environments.
The rise of remote work, cloud adoption and distributed endpoints has expanded agencies’ attack surfaces and made traditional network-centric security approaches less effective, he added. Modern, cloud-based management tools are evermore critical for maintaining visibility and control over devices regardless of location.
Renderer also highlighted the growing role of artificial intelligence in cybersecurity, particularly for automating labor-intensive processes such as vulnerability analysis and patch management. Looking ahead, he said success will depend on agencies’ ability to streamline operations, consolidate technology investments and improve efficiency across IT environments.
