Women Tech Leaders Receive Flywheel Awards from GovCIO Media & Research

Five federal technology leaders were presented with Flywheel Awards in recognition for their impact on federal technology including the Woman Tech Leader of the Year.

Fairfax, Va. – GovCIO Media & Research, a leading federal technology multimedia company, hosted the annual  Women Tech Leaders Summit on May 15 in Washington, D.C. Key federal IT leaders were presented with Flywheel Awards during the event in recognition for their impact on the government technology community. “These awards embody what it means to be a transformer in government technology,” Editor-in-Chief Amy Kluber said. “Each year we look forward to bringing this powerful community together and providing a platform to make connections and elevate the great work these women across government.”  

The awards presentation featured five categories: Rising Star, Workforce Champion, Digital Transformer, Woman Tech Leader of the Year and Lifetime Achievement. Among those recognized were leaders from the Internal Revenue Service (IRS), U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA), Department of Veteran Affairs (VA), Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA) and the Navy. The winners were: 

Rising Star 

  • April Harding, Director of User Experience Services, IRS 

Workforce Champion  

  • Jessica Berrellez, Executive Officer, Office of Digital Transformation, FDA 

Digital Transformer  

  • Judy Cecchetti, Supervisory IT Specialist, VA 

Woman Tech Leader of the Year  

  • Sharon Woods, Director, J-6 Endpoint and Global Service Center, DISA 

Lifetime Achievement  

  • Jane Rathbun, CIO Department of the Navy
