DHS Center Lead Tackles Pandemic Innovations
As a microbiologist, Dr. Lloyd Hough from the Hazard Awareness & Characterization Technology Center at the Department of Homeland Security is leading research efforts during the pandemic to assist, inform and prepare the agency and public at large to best respond to the virus.
One recent project resulted in creating a way to sanitize face masks using a multi-cooker. Hough discusses his path to science and how he’s applying that interest in the various research activities for biological threats.
