DOD Software Chief Breaks Down Tech Shifts in Pacific Region

Defense Department Chief Software Officer Rob Vietmeyer sits down with us at AFCEA TechNet Indo-Pacific in Honolulu to discuss the integral part of digital software within the National Defense Strategy that aims to increase deterrence around evolving threats in the Pacific region.
Vietmeyer describes his tech priorities around cloud, AI and zero trust. Updates to some of the recent ongoing projects include the rollout of a new cloud capability, Joint Operational Edge Cloud, with the first app currently being installed in Hawaii as well as an update for continuous authorization that gives more flexibility to sharing data.
He also highlights how partnerships in and out of the agency are shaping the software factory model to enabling cultural change to digital modernization across the Mission Partner Environment.
