Ghelatia graduated from American University with a B.S. in Biology and has an MPH degree with a concentration in Global Health from New York University. Her journey in the health field began with the passing of her father and his immense health complications (with his heart, kidneys, and pancreas) has pushed her to go into the fields of medicine and public health. She is passionate when it comes to advocating education and preventative measures, especially for adolescent populations.

As such, she has dedicated her undergraduate years into researching preventative measures pertaining to juvenile type 2 diabetes. She has spent time in organizations such as Children and Charity International working with students and teaching them topics pertaining to personal health, nutrition, mentorship, etc. Ghelatia has spent the past year working on the KidneyX portfolio and has helped with supporting the launch of the Artificial Kidney Prize Phase 2.

Mr. Michael Crawford is the Associate Dean for Strategy, Outreach, and Innovation (ADSOI) at the Howard University College of Medicine and Founding Executive Director of Howard University’s 1867 Health Innovations Project. Prior to Howard University, Mr. Crawford served as the Chief of Staff at Unity Health Care, Inc., one of the largest health center networks in the United States. Prior to Unity, Mr. Crawford held domestic and international leadership positions at Johnson & Johnson, GlaxoSmithKline, Gannett Company, nonprofits, and start-ups.

Mr. Crawford brings expertise at the intersection of operations, strategy, digital health, data, innovation, product development, and policy. Mr. Crawford’s work focuses on developing scalable digital health and data models to help enhance health access, outcomes, and affordability for medically underserved and vulnerable populations.

Mr. Crawford serves on numerous national and local committees, including a member of the Academy of Health and Robert Wood Johnson Foundation Health Service Research Learning Community, member of Robert Wood Johnson National Commission to Transform Public Health Data Systems, member of HIMSS Global Health Equity Network, member of the District of Columbia Complete Count Committee, member of New York eHealth Innovation Advisory Group, member of American Essential Hospitals Education Committee, member of the Advisory Board of National Minority Quality Forum, and member of the Board of Directors of the Boys and Girls Clubs Greater Washington.

Mr. Crawford holds a Master of Healthcare Leadership (MHL) with a concentration in healthcare administration and management from Brown University, Master of Business Administration (MBA) from The George Washington University with a concentration in Strategic Management and Finance, and a Bachelor of Science from Rider University with a concentration in Marketing Strategy.

Mr. Danny Dickerson is the Director, Division of Inclusion and Diversity, for the National Institutes of Health (NIH). He is primarily responsible for overseeing the administration of the Affirmative Employment Programs and managing a robust Diversity and Inclusion Portfolio. Mr. Dickerson has also served as the EDI Senior Policy Advisor, as well as a Reasonable Accommodations consultant.

Mr. Dickerson is also a member of the Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion (EDI) training cadre, where he is responsible for conducting training in the areas of Anti-Bullying, Equal Employment Opportunity Compliance, Civil Treatment, and LGBTI training (Safezone).

Previously Mr. Dickerson was a Senior Equal Employment Opportunity Specialist (EEO) at the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS).

Mr. Dickerson retired from the United States Air Force after twenty years of service. He is married to his high school sweetheart and the father of two wonderful children.

Heather Dimeris serves as the Director for the Office for the Advancement of Telehealth (OAT), Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA) at U.S. Department of Health and Human Services. She is a Captain (CAPT) in the United States Public Health Service (USPHS).

The Office promotes telehealth as a way to deliver health care, and supports the Department of Health & Human Services’ (HHS) telehealth efforts to expand access and improve health outcomes.

Throughout her career, CAPT Dimeris has been committed to expanding health care access to advance the public’s health, particularly in the area of telehealth. Her work included the creation of multiple telehealth grant programs including the Substance Abuse Telehealth Network Grant Program, the Tele-Behavioral Health Network Grant Program, the Telehealth Broadband Pilot Program, the Telehealth Center of Excellence Grant Program, and the Telehealth Technology-Enabled Learning Program.

In response to the unprecedented Public Health Emergency, CAPT Dimeris led the rapid creation of the HHS Telehealth Website in partnership with the White House Office of Science and Technology Policy, Immediate Office of the Secretary and the Assistant Secretary for Preparedness Response. The HHS Telehealth Website, receiving over one million page views in its first year, serves as a resource for patients and providers to obtain or deliver health care services via telehealth.

CAPT Dimeris also created and leads the HRSA Telehealth Workgroup that serves as a resource for rural and underserved communities and provides telehealth-related recommendations to federal and state governments. CAPT Dimeris led the HRSA Telehealth Strategic Plan that allowed HRSA to be an agency-wide leader in the field of telehealth, resulting in over 1,300 HRSA grants that include telehealth. In 2021, CAPT Dimeris received the HHS Award for Distinguished Service for exemplary leadership and innovation in expanding telehealth in response to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Dr. Duran is the Senior Advisor on Data Science, Analytics and Systems to the Director of the National Institutes of Minority and Health Disparities at the National Institutes of Health. She focuses on health technology for equitable health. To mitigate inequities, she focuses on implicit and explicit biases in data curation, AI and ethics, ethical machine learning algorithms, inclusive predictive analytics, risk stratification by vulnerable population, unjust implementations, and inclusive natural language processing. She advocates for the inclusion of social determinant of health (SDOH) in big data systems to enable comprehensive diagnostics, treatments, and interventions to reduce health disparities. Prior to this role, she has been the director of science policy, scientific planning, and data analytics for over 20 years, including Performance Director for NIH.

She is an author and received two HHS secretarial awards and numerous NIH awards exemplifying her leadership skills and ability to advance science. She strives to ensure health disparity topics benefit from emerging data science innovations, and that researchers adopt the knowledge advantages of large data sets and technologies to reduce health disparities. To achieve this end, she is the founder of the ScHARe cloud-based platform designed for population science, including social determinants of health, behavioral and environmental data sets, to provide the advantages of big data for health disparity research. The target audience are women and populations underrepresented in data science, as well as low resource minority serving institutions, community colleges, and those isolated who want to do cloud computing health disparity and health delivery research.

Pamela J. Gentry is the Deputy Director of the Office of Minority Health (OMH) for the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services, at the Department of Health and Human Services.  Gentry’s works to advance the agency’s commitment to and investment in health equity for underserved populations, including policy and program innovation to advance health equity.

Gentry led the agency’s team to plan and execute the first Annual CMS Health Equity Conference and is the champion of the long standing OMH Minority Research Grant Program. The grant program is designed to make strategic investments in health care research aimed at advancing CMS’s goal of mitigating barriers to health equity.

As senior advisor to OMH, she focused on outreach and education for minority communities and the development and execution of national education and outreach campaigns for Medicare, Medicaid, Healthcare Marketplace and the Children’s Health Insurance Program.

Gentry returned to federal service in 2010 after eight years as senior manager in broadcast and online media for BET Networks.  She created BET’s first online political blog in 2005, “Pamela on Politics.” In 2009 she became the networks senior political analyst responsible for the daily coverage of the White House and legislative activity on Capitol Hill.  Prior to BET she worked for C-SPAN, W*USA-TV Channel 9 in Washington, D.C., and provided political commentary for various national and international news networks and was a guest political blogger on The Huffington Post.

William Gordon, MD, MBI, FAMIA is a Physician, Clinical Informaticist, and Senior Advisor for Data and Technology at the Center for Medicare and Medicaid Innovation. In this role, he supports and lead the center’s initiatives around data and technology. Dr. Gordon is a national leader in digital health, clinical informatics, and interoperability and has done extensive operational and academic work in this space. Dr. Gordon previously had technology and informatics leadership roles at the Mass General Brigham healthcare system in Boston Massachusetts. He is currently a staff physician at Brigham and Women’s hospital and faculty in Harvard Medical School’s Department of Biomedical Informatics.

Susan K. Gregurick, Ph.D., was appointed Associate Director for Data Science and Director of the Office of Data Science Strategy (ODSS) at the National Institutes of Health on Sept. 16, 2019. Under Dr. Gregurick’s leadership, the ODSS leads the implementation of the NIH Strategic Plan for Data Science through scientific, technical, and operational collaboration with the institutes, centers, and offices that comprise NIH. Dr. Gregurick was instrumental in the creation of the ODSS in 2018 and served as a senior advisor to the office until being named to her current position.

Dr. Gregurick was previously the Division Director for Biophysics, Biomedical Technology, and Computational Biosciences at the National Institute of General Medical Sciences. Prior to joining the NIH in 2013, Dr. Gregurick was a program director in the Office of Biological and Environmental Research at the Department of Energy.

Before beginning a career of government service, Dr. Gregurick was a professor of computational chemistry at the University of Maryland, Baltimore County. Her research interests included dynamics of large biological macromolecules, and her areas of expertise are computational biology, high performance computing, neutron scattering and bioinformatics.

Dr. Gregurick received her undergraduate degree in chemistry and mathematics from the University of Michigan and her Ph.D. in physical chemistry from the University of Maryland.

Dr. Kristen Honey is the Chief Data Scientist and a Senior Advisor. When the COVID-19 pandemic hit in 2020, Dr. Honey pivoted back to her data roots. She advised the White House National Security Council (NSC) and the HHS Chief Information Officer (CIO) on big-data sharing, governance, analysis, and predictive analytics with AI/ML (HHS Protect Vision with DataRobot). In collaboration with the CIO, Dr. Honey established the Office of the Chief Data Officer (OCDO) and co-founded the Data Governance Board to implement the OPEN Government Data Act (open data) elements of the Foundations for Evidence Based Policymaking Act. This work with OCDO is helping to unify 11 HHS Operating Divisions (e.g. CDC, NIH, CMS, and FDA) with 80,000+ government employees, geographically dispersed workforces, diverse missions and work cultures, and separate incompatible IT systems into a single, data-driven HHS. As the Chief Data Scientist and Senior Advisor to the Assistant Secretary for Health (ASH), Dr. Honey leads the $30M COVID-19 Diagnostics Data Platform project.

Dr. Honey earned her Ph.D. at Stanford University in the Emmett Interdisciplinary Program in the Environment and Resources, School of Earth Sciences, while simultaneously earning a Ph.D. minor in Civil and Environmental Engineering from Stanford University. She holds an M.A. in Environmental Studies from the University of California, Santa Cruz, and a B.A. in Human Biology with Honors from Stanford University. She previously worked in the Obama Administration from 2015 to 2017. Dr. Kristen Honey worked for the U.S. Chief Technology Officer (CTO) in the White House Office of Science and Technology Policy (OSTP) as a Policy Advisor. She would then advise the Federal Chief Information Officer as a Senior Policy Analyst. In June 2018, Dr. Honey transitioned to the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS), Immediate Office of the Secretary, to tackle complex challenges by harnessing the power of open science, open data, open source, citizen science, crowdsourcing, prizes, challenges, and innovative public-private partnerships for public health.

Alexandra Mugge is the Deputy Chief Health Informatics Officer at the Center for Medicare & Medicaid Services, where her team leads the interoperability and health IT efforts for CMS. She has been with CMS since 2010 and during that time she has maintained a focus on health IT policy. Before joining the Office of the Administrator in her current role, Alex served as the Deputy Director of the Division of Health IT, where she and her team lead the overhaul of the Meaningful Use Programs to create the Promoting Interoperability initiatives.

Alex earned her Masters of Public Health from the Rollins School of Public Health at Emory University where she specialized in Public Health Policy.

Jessie Posilkin is the Acting Executive Director of the Technology Modernization Fund, working to help implement IT solutions across the government that improve agency processes and systems. She has previously worked on the Acquisitions Team at 18F, working to improve the way that the government buys technology by developing the use of the Agile BPA. She has also worked in a variety of non-profits as an organizer and technologist, supporting her colleagues to become stronger users of technology and finding ways for online systems to help social workers, lawyers, and food pantry managers help their clients. Jessie has tried many project management systems, and is a firm believer the best system is the one you will use. Jessie graduated from Bryn Mawr College with a degree in Peace and Conflict Studies.

Ioana is the Technical Leader for Standards and Interoperability with responsibility for program execution; responsible standards-related consultation, development, and outreach to partners within VHA, VA, as well as across the government and in the national and international healthcare communities. She is responsible for innovative application of Standards related professional engineering practices and operations research functions on highly complex problems plaguing the health care system in both a tactical and strategic manner. Ioana has 30 years of software development, 25 years of HL7 and other health IT standards (IEEE, IHE, ASTM, OMG, NCPDP). She also holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering, Master’s in Computer Science, is a HL7 Fellow, the co-chair of multiple HL7 committees; HL7 certified, and has a AI Strategy Certification (AI for Healthcare).

Katie leads the business of IBM consulting services, across multiple operating divisions within the Department of Health and Human Services. This work includes data and AI, hybrid cloud, cybersecurity, and talent transformation. Prior to this role, Katie served as the Principal Technology Sales Leader for Veterans Affairs and Defense Healthcare, managing strategic client engagements across all of IBM’s product offerings. Katie is focused on leveraging IBM’s strengths in the areas of Data, Artificial Intelligence, Hybrid Cloud, Zero Trust, Automation, and Talent Transformation to help customers solve complex problems.

Prior to joining IBM, Katie worked for Northrop Grumman supporting an array of clients, to include: the Japanese Ministry of Defense, Navy, DISA, and US Medical Commands and Department of Veterans Affairs. Her experience also includes the work she did for Global Professional Solutions, Nortel, and Federal Resources Corporation. She received her Bachelor of Science from Winthrop University in South Carolina, and an MBA from Virginia Tech where she completed international studies in both Dublin, Ireland and Istanbul, Turkey. Katie has been highlighted in Signal Magazine for her hard work and has received multiple industry awards.

When she’s not at work, Katie enjoys spending time with her 3 kids and her husband Bryan. She is the Chair and a founding board member of “A Love of Everyone,” (ALOE), created to bring volunteer opportunities to youth and families. Katie is an active volunteer and leader at work and in her community. Katie also serves time with Professional Services Council (PSC), AFFIRM, Girl Scouts of America, and coaches a local soccer team
