GSA Taps Dovarius Peoples as Deputy CIO
Peoples previously served as CIO of the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers and oversaw the service’s cloud migration and data modernization.

Dovarius Peoples has been appointed deputy CIO at the General Services Administration (GSA) to start Oct. 6, said a GSA spokesperson in a statement to GovCIO Media & Research.
“We are thrilled to welcome Dovarius ⏤ a leader who is passionate about improving government services through technology ⏤ to GSA, where he will play a pivotal role in shaping the future of our organization,” said GSA CIO David Shive.
Peoples comes to the agency after serving as CIO at the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) since 2019. While there, he has overseen numerous technology projects, including those around data modernization and zero trust implementation.
In January, Peoples said focusing on cybersecurity and data modernization enabled the service to successfully migrate to the cloud.
In addition to his senior roles in the defense sector, he had previously held leadership positions at the Office of Personnel Management and the National Security Agency.
