GovCIO Media & Research has opened nominations for the 2026 Critical Infrastructure Security Summit Flywheel Awards, celebrating federal technology leaders driving innovation and advancing mission‑focused modernization across government.

Fairfax, Va. – GovCIO Media & Research, a leading federal technology media organization, announced that nominations are now open for the 2026 Critical Infrastructure Security Summit Flywheel Awards.
“The Flywheel Awards honor federal technology leaders who drive meaningful, lasting progress,” said Michael Hoffman, president, GovCIO Media & Research. “We’re excited to recognize innovators whose work strengthens cybersecurity, advances critical technologies and support the development of the cyber workforce.”
The Critical Infrastructure Flywheel Award categories include:
- Critical Infrastructure Security Rising Star
- Cyber Leader
- Infrastructure Resilience Champion
- AI Security Innovator
- CISO of the Year
Nominees must be federal IT employees whose achievements took place in 2025. As cyber threats continue to target critical infrastructure nationwide, this is a chance to recognize leaders advancing resiliency and modern security strategies. The entry deadline is October 23, 2026, with finalists announced November 2, 2026. Award winners will be honored at the summit on January 8, 2027 in Tysons, VA. Submit your nominations here.
