Fairfax, Va.GovCIO Media & Research, a leading federal technology media company, opened the Flywheel Award nominations for the 2026 Federal IT Efficiency Summit.  

The Flywheel Awards will be presented on May 20 in Reston, Viriginia, during the Federal IT Efficiency Summit. These awards honor federal employees whose programs drive innovation and advance technology across the government. Nominations are due by March 20, and finalists will be announced on April 3.  

“The Flywheel Awards represent the spirit of transformation in federal IT, and we remain committed to honoring the leaders who drive that change,” said Michael Hoffman, president of GovCIO Media & Research. “At the Federal IT Efficiency Summit, we are excited to highlight the individuals and programs redefining innovation and shaping the future of government technology.” 

The Federal IT Efficiency Flywheel Award categories include:  

  • Rising Star 
  • Digital Transformer
  • Innovation Champion
  • Change Driver
  • Workforce Enabler

Nominees must be federal government individuals whose achievements took place within the last 12 months. The entry deadline is March 20, 2026 and the finalists will be announced on April 3, 2026. Winners across all categories will receive their Federal IT Efficiency Flywheel Awards during the May 20 summit. Don’t let their work go unnoticed– submit your nominations here.
