Memorializing Veterans with ‘Veterans Legacy Memorial’
Digital service leaders discuss the progress in a program that aims to have an online remembrance platform for every veteran interred in national cemeteries.
Launched in 2019, the Veterans Legacy Memorial (VLM) through the Department of Veterans Affairs’ National Cemetery Administration is helping the public honor more than 4.3 million veterans interred in VA owned and funded cemeteries. Members from the VLM development team join us to discuss how they’re continuing to improve customer experience and build out new features through collaboration and user feedback across the veteran community.
With the digital service now fully optimized for mobile, the team is honing in on human-centered design, DevSecOps and automation for the program’s long-term goal of eventually having a page to memorialize every veteran outside the VA.
